Gridy is a developer utility designed solely to overlay visual edge rulers and draggable alignment guides on web pages to assist web developers and UI designers with component alignment. We respect your privacy and believe developer tools should operate with complete transparency.
2. Data Collection & Transmission
Gridy does NOT collect, store, track, or transmit any user data.
- No personally identifiable information (PII)
- No browsing history or visited URL tracking
- No website content, form data, or keystrokes
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
- No remote server communication
3. Browser Permissions & Justification
storage Used strictly on your local device to save your guideline coordinates, snap preferences, and color palette per website domain. Your data never leaves your computer.
activeTab Enables the extension popup and the Alt+G keyboard shortcut to toggle guideline visibility on the currently active tab when requested by the user.
content_scripts (<all_urls>) Allows injecting the isolated canvas rulers and alignment guidelines into any web page or local development server (such as localhost:3000) that you wish to inspect. This is encapsulated inside Shadow DOM to guarantee zero CSS interference.
